Journey is a game that correctly understands that it's about the perceived scale of something rather than the actual scale. In Journey, you cannot climb any mountain you see.

awful game design, I'd much rather play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Upgrade and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition - Creations

it's the woman's approach. a safe and guided tour through curated "experiences". Why do you think zoomers are so pro-linear game now? because they're all effeminate and weak. they think like women and crave feminine experiences. so exploration and the Unknown scares them. they want their hand held.

If Nintendo actually shitcanned it because it didn't have nearly enough Nintendo brand novelty(TM) I swear to god I'll fucking throttle someone into the stratosphere

The original Metroid is arguably open world. Gotta find and kill two bosses and then the final boss, but iirc you can wander around and do whichever of the two bosses first.
I don't know why I'm supposed to be mad about this. It's the same functional world design as Prime 3 where you visit distinct areas. The only difference here is that instead of going into your ship and clicking a button that leads to a loading screen, you get in a vehicle and have gameplay as you go. What is the problem, exactly?

Pressing forward for 10 minutes instead of teleporting to the area of interest is not good gameplay

Can you point to where in the footage it looks like it's going to take you 10 minutes of pressing forward? Did you miss the enemies spawning along the way? Do you have an issue with spewing hyperbole?
Nintendo is always two decades late to the party on every trend and is currently on its open world ubislop arc. Can't wait for 10 years from now when we get a serious Mario game where he teaches us to be better men.
