That depends on how you feel about RF Oceans
It pretty much takes points out of the other aspects of the game to put it into socialization and town building. The characters are good, town building is fun, but also means the farming and crafting are simplified to their base and there's not even things like NPC schedules or building interiors (besides some cutscenes anyway)
Enjoyable, the threads were quite positive and I played it for like 100 hours. It's just a spinoff and might not be what you're expecting.

Like I said, socialization with expanded options for hanging out with characters, and the town building with some villager management. There's a little bit of focus to the combat since there's now skill trees and "sacred treasure" super weapons but they just trivialize the game really

its a very casual game
the gameplay loop is basicaly building your city till you get bored and then do a dungeon, they are all quite simplistic and some have riddles but most of them are so designed that you finish them in like 10-20 minutes + bossfight
after that you go back building your villages and talking to people, rinse and repeat

its perfect for playing in short bursts since you can accomplish a lot in a short time and every liddle thing you do adds up over time and every action also gives you some exp
also most of the characters are very charming, seeing them smile gives me a major serotonin boost

For me it was: Stardew -> Sakuna -> RF: GoA -> RF4

I was tempted by the Bazaar game when I saw it get such great reviews, but it's kinda hard to imagine enjoying a Harvest Moon game after a RF one. The RF elements add quite a lot.

I'm also not really into the Chibi artstyle, compared to something like Ulalaka, Kaguya or Kanata.

The original creator, Yasuhiro Wada, explicitly stated that he planned to make a lifesim franchise first and foremost with farming merely being the backdrop and excuse to get you into a community. Rune Factory especially farming takes even more of a backseat while the dialogue and romance aspects got expanded even more.

Check out the metacritic scores. The vast majority of Harvest Moon games (BEFORE the rebrand) are 60-70%.

You need to go all the way back to 2005 to find something above an 80%, and even then it goes right back down to 70%s and 60%s again. There's a handful of 80% in the entire franchise.

You can disagree with those scores, but it's not surprising that people wouldn't try them out when every entry is getting a "meh" 73% or "bad" 64%. Doubly so if you venture into the fanbase and it's all about how the series hasn't been good since Mineral Town.

I only ever liked HM65/Mineral Town. I tried one of the 3DS(?) games, but there was this weird thing where at a certain time of day, a vendor comes in a locks you in a cutscene EVERY DAY. Not sure if it was a HM or SOS. I've also outgrown its chibi characters artstyle. Really unappealing how wide and round the faces are. They look like funko pops.

I found it kind of boring. Engaging with the systems is optional, they're shallow if you do, and you don't really have to put in effort or thought at any point.

I am terrible with japanese names, but I played as kaguya and married the hunter chick from the dlc. I was running around with my squad of bikini babes, full gooner mode.

If you are a fan of the mainline games, this one has shallow farming/crafting in comparison, plus it's really easy even at the hardest difficulty.

It's not worth the asking price even now, imho.
I bought it today, played about 4 hours (on the Steam Deck, completely offline) and then asked for a refund because i'd rather keep my money and wait until this next sale.
