>be full time NEET
>basically only play games that simulates having a job
explain this phenomenon.

the fake jobs have no expectations of you, and you can choose to stop 'working' and go back as needed.
You want the satisfaction of a hard day's work, while having full control over everything.

what makes me wonder how can be so lucky to have the ability to neetmaxx for years and not do anything valuable with all that free time
i was basically forced to be a neet for a year and I was going insane just playing video games that I had to start learning something productive online just so I don't feel like a subhuman

you don't have to
admittedly it's just my autistic point of view that when you have free time you should use it to progress in a skillset/hobby, instead of just playing videogames all the time. I don't grind 24/7 though

I mean at some point I'm going to have to pay for food and shelter and I don't have the capability of doing that
I just can't make myself care about it

It's a respectable decision as long as it's done for self-fullfilment purpose. Just don't fall for the meme of "being productive for society".

Tons of free time and they want to fill it as much as possible. I have a loser friend that plays wow like it's a job and my whole friend group makes fun of him for it

Why are neets the ones who are primarily vilified when those people in bullshit fake jobs where they don't actually do anything and get paid over 100k a year for it are barely ever talked about
Anonymous No.720660927 [Report]
>>720660459
yeah essentially that's the idea
i don't have the "muh useful to society" drive. i just want to prove to myself I am not a mindless drone playing videogames all the time
just do something that even slightly interests you, even if may be useless in the real world

people need a feeling of achievement. you can gamify any mundane chore to trick people into doing it
that is called 'nu-fun'

it is a status symbol to have a fake email job that pays an extortionate amount. most people are generally concerned with their status and how others perceive them. if you're an autistic NEET you probably couldn't care less.

you're trying to subconsciously placate yourself and your not unwarranted sense of worthlessness by saying
>I am not playing, I am not twiddling my thumbs
>I am educating myself I am simulating and doing my due diligence before I will start my real life next month.

Having a job doesn't typically consist of simply performing a series of technical tasks, 80% of your mental effort goes toward impromptu ad-hoc problem solving which entails navigating finnicky internal bureaucracies and socializing with people who act as barrier between you and the task you want to accomplish. The ones that are just straight up doing a task over and over like in these job simulation games are manual labor

working could have been fun if our society didnt ruin it
you can get a taste of this if you like your coworkers, joking around with them while still addressing tasks, all until the faggot manager walks in and starts throwing numbers and productivity metrics around and it kills the mood

It would be more tolerable if your labor was properly paid for rather than skimmed to give board members a big fat bonus.

>working is fun as long as you're hanging out with your friends and not doing any work at all
wow no shit, being on a diet is also pretty easy as long as you don't restrict what you eat at all and also never exercise

Because at its core neetdom is coping and insular, imagine asking an alcoholic why he spends all his time drinking alone when he could be doing something else

Easy enough, there's a ASAP science vid "The Science of Productivity" that explains when people often feel psychological tension over not completing big tasks in their own lives, be it professional or personal goals, they will often indulge things that trick their brain into thinking they're accomplishing something to relieve that.

There's also something about how for most people there's some brain fuckery where once we start something we feel a strong inclination to finish it. They discuss it as a means to trick yourself into being productive, but it also means if you start some roadmap in the Sims but have real world chores to do: even if you know it's make believe, even if it's not necessarily "fun", even if it can be delayed until later your brain will want to complete the mental checklist as soon as possible.
