Architect is to spam tools and use the needle to refill silk. It's the crest I used the most, but for fast paced bosses it's worthless, as you say. For those fights (First Sinner, Tormented Trobbio, Lost Lace, etc.), I ended up using Wanderer because of the faster attack speed, even though the range is quite limited.

I adpated to it but there really is too much startup to dash jumping and attacking, there's like a solid half a second before they activate from standstill. If you want to dash jump off a ledge you need to either dash in the opposite direction and turn around or midair dash onto the ground then jump. There's really no need for the delay, it makes using the dash attack in combat much more inconvenient and outclassed by clawlining

I have bad news for you, anon. Some of the enemies are scripted to always void. Even if you destroy the void nest in that area. I discovered that when one of the weakest enemies didn't die with a single strike like they normally do, even before the void animation started.

The 'dash attack' isn't actually a 'dash attack', and the 'dash jump' isn't actually a 'dash jump'.
You're thinking of the sprint attack and the sprint jump. But your sprint is only initiated after your dash. And you can't initiate the sprint jump or sprint attack until the dash is over.

There's a blue tool that makes silk regeneration faster. If you have silk hearts you get up to three silk bars for free. It may help you a lot when you retry this.
I had a hard time at first, but I think it's pretty doable. If it helps, I can tell you that those warm spots you find along the way are perfectly spaced to let you rest for a moment, and if you don't reach the next one in time, it's because there's another path that's more efficient.
It's tough, but you can do it. And the reward you get makes it worthwhile.

Soul Master (and Soul Warrior as well as the other Soul guys) I would assume are just generic non-specific bugs like much of Hallownest. They don't strike me as that different from most of the Husk creatures and I would hazard a guess they're all just some non-descript beetle if I had to give them a grouping.

As for Groal it's hard to say but I think he's actually a very large Squit, like them he is quite capable of flight and his primary attack is an acid spitting projectile. Groal's definitely made to look like a toad don't get me wrong although this isn't even the only instance of such a thing in the game, Craws are meant to look like corvids, Mites look like Mice & Drapeflies are meant to look like Bats. It's just bugs with qualities that we otherwise associate with non-bug creatures.

Because it can give unique advantages? Depends on the Crest though.
But if you use the Wanderer as many people do, it can very easily align you for repeated aerial slashes at just the right range, as you bounce back not far enough back for your weapon range to no longer reach. And you can just go ham.

What helped me was counting how many times I hit each flea. Each one goes away after the third hit (except the big blue one that needs four hits), so when you know there's only a single hit left, you jump and hit them in the air so they disappear from the arena. Also, try to hit them from one side so they go to the opposite side (i.e. if you hit them from the left, they go to the right side). And press the dash button to reach them to the other side of the platform, because the dash distance is enought to get them.

Lost Lace melts to this. Inject the drugs before diving in, pop 4 cogflies and refresh them as they break. Use the railgun if you happen to be far away from her or there are pillars in the way. You only need 5-6 hits depending on if you have the extra silk regen equip on to refresh tools, and you only need to refresh twice at most to deplete all of her hp. Is it the most efficient, or fastest? No, but it is incredibly safe and there's not much Lace can do about it.

Yeah, that's the area, you have to do some platforming to get close to an opening where there's the tongue of a monster coming down, you have to get trapped by that tongue to go up and then smash buttons to get free before reaching its body. You have to do this three or four times more to get to the top. Unless I'm mistaken, you don't really need to go there yet.

The thing with lifesteal in any game is you have to be really, really careful. Even the slightest nudge can push you to the point that you become an immortal juggernaut. Stop trying to chase her and let her come to you. The big problem people have with this fight is coming to it on her terms and not knowing when it is safe to jump. I did it as a parry spam, constantly crossing her attacks with the Hunter crest because I wanted to match her and it was murder. A beautiful fight that had some really good back and forth and insane combos and at one point 7 attacks parried in a row, including her moonsault, dive and two back to back dashes, but you really don't want to try to fight her like that.

Nah, all the abilities have their use. The damage is slightly worse than silkspear, but I don’t think it’s supposed to be a purely offensive skill. It’s pretty good as an ability to reposition or dodge while dealing damage. It also avoids contact damage so pretty good when enemies are charging at you or starting to get you cornered.

Better defensive option than parry in some cases since parry has a long as fuck animation that will get you caught by some enemies. The homing spears in act 3 are the best though imo.

Oh, that was easy. The worst part was the hallway in Greymoor with the centipede and the bug trying to get the silk dregs. Once you get up to Sinner's Road, you are actually home free, since the roaches can't get to you on the top and climbing up to the top only has two enemies that can chase you. Then you just jump over the jailers when they charge and the final room is just a single roach in the way. I expected to have more trouble with it, because Sinner's road, but hell it was pleasant compared to the Rasher.
