Everyone who hasn't been consistently buying Nintendo games and consoles for the last 35 years recognizes that Nintendo's being shitty, but it probably won't amount to much. For such a patent to even be approved in the first place is so absurd that you'd think some Nintendo goons paid the USPTO guy reviewing the patent to just approve the thing.

everyone who parrots this doesnt even know what the nemesis system even IS. due to the wording of it, 50% of getting around the patent is simply not using the word "nemesis". the rest is also so extremely specific, that you would basically have to deliberately copy the shadow games in order to infringe on it. the vague and general concept of "enemies remember you and your actions, and the results of previous engagements" is not what the nemesis system patent is, and anyone can easily do that. the real reason they DONT do that, is because its a lot of fucking WORK to make something like that function, and then a lot more WORK to write enough stuff to populate the system and make it worthwhile.
