They are all selfish and broken trying to cope though. When watching her ending i had the feeling that she was completely aware of the lie. Her face wasn´t the face of someone that got what she wanted or that was clinging to fantasy, it was the face of someone suffering because none of that was real no matter how much she wished for it.
But as mentioned, none of them is in the right. Yes Renoir actions are the ones that logically make more sense but his motives are as emotionally selfish as all the rest. He wants the family to face things together, which in theory is the most healthy approach but he wants so because he can´t deal with everyone around him being emotionally dead too. Essentially he is screaming he can´t deal with everything alone. Which again, seems valid, but doesn´t really respect others grieve differently.
Clea on the other hand is just avoiding dealing with it, just like Alicia, only the method is different. Maybe less self destructive but still not healthy. Plus, it most likely result in hurting others rather than hurting herself.
