TTT2. It was the one objective flop in Tekken's history and Bamco are scared shitless of it happening again to the point where going back to "basic" Tekken is death in their eyes. That's why we get tryhard-as-fuck newcomers like Fahk, Victor, and Leroy over Christie, Bruce, Mokujin etc. and why we have dopamine bullshit over actual fundamentals, stepping, and all the shit the series once lived by.

Buffing backdash would be a mistake at this point. Whiffing one attack means you're taking 50%, more in cases like Bryan, so the game would be nothing but the safest buttons and backdash cancels. The way to restore defense is to tone down the tracking.

T8 is way overhated. Most if not all characters are tournament viable, sidestep is strong and you usually need to win at least three interactions to win with seven golden letters. Defense is very hard but rewarding. Combos are long but they do the same percent of damage as previous games. All they need to do is to make spammy moves minus on block or track less. Unfortunately, some moves deserve to be removed but they'll never do it. Oh well, still more fair than any other old fightan.
