I've always wanted a Tau focused XCOM clone that uses their auxiliary races as a mechanic, where you start off with only fire warriors but unlock stuff like Kroot, Vespids, Gue'vesa, Terellians and a bunch of others as you play the game.
Also I think it would be pretty cool if Owlcat did another Warhammer RPG where you play as the commander of a Tau special forces unit with a bunch of different alien companions. That would be neat.

Darktide could have been about some misfit group with a tau, eldar, and whatever humans/abhumans just like Vermintide did with making humans, a dwarf and an elf begrudgingly work together but for some reason they decided it's better to just have them be all humans indistinguishably screeching the same shit about muh empire, godemprah, and heresy.

They even did that shit before with Dawn of War and those guys even had a Necron and an Ork in their team

Because the idea was likely to eventually sell those characters as DLC. Pre-release they were talking about some insane turnaround time on releasing new classes and characters that already sounded impossible to meet until the game launched like ass and took 3 years to un-fuck itself over patches.
