Not really, I just set realistic expectations for what he puts out. He always said it wasn't going to be a harem game where you collect every girl there is so it didn't come as a shock when he locked you into a route. There are enough issues with the game to not need to make one up like that, it's treated as if he pulled some kind of bait and switch despite being upfront about his intentions.

Its not that bad but it suffers from the usual problem with non-harem wegs; when you lock yourself to your chosen girl and get your relationship to the point where you have sex with her the game just kinda stagnates.
You can't chase other girls since you're locked into the one you already chose and your relationship with your chosen girl doesn't really develop meaningfully anymore.
From there the dev doesn't really know where to take the story but he doesn't want to finish the game either because he likes a steady income of patreon money.
Another thing that slows down the updates at this point is that the dev has to do unique content to all main girls so that the updates don't feel too small since all or most of the players are locked into only one girl and will thus only see content for one girl, not to mention the other potential branches in the story.

It's not harem heavy at all, the first part merely doesn't punish you from starting things with several girls casually since you are not committed to anyone.

It's not even that wegs are completed or not, but it's also that more and more wegdevs are getting away with bigger and bigger gaps between updates because the top earners are being rewarded by paypigs for content that's about half an hour long AT MOST after 8 months to a year+ of dev time.

Wegs in 2016-19 were being updated once a month or every other month. Once a year updates were completely unheard of back then. Even Acting Lessons never had big gaps between updates.
