The switch 1 was the value console, a compromise between performance and price. And mobility was a plus. But this is shit is literally more expensive than a ps5 for worse performance, and its Xbox huge.

They were so worried about pricing issues that they shot themselves in the foot. If anything, they should have released a no compromises version first with an oled screen, particularly since they're continuing their support of the Switch 1 alongside it into next year. It's the more dedicated fans that are going to make the jump first. I'm not buying it because the hardware itself is subpar, and they're guaranteed to release a version that outdates the v1. Why would you buy it now while it has 2 games that you can't play elsewhere? By the time one comes out with an oled panel there will be a much larger library, too.

I mostly use my Switch 2 to play my backlog of Switch 1 games. That said the fact that there are no Switch 2 killer apps on the system means a lot of normalfags are going to be put off the ststem.

Still if you jump on a system at launch without doing your research and believing in all the hype then that's on you. Switch 2 was going to be as decent as base PS4 at best if not worse due to Nintendo always underclocking their systems. It's also Nintendo's fault for trying to sell power instead of games.

People that have buyer's remorse for a modern console are retarded. There's almost no launch library in history to warrant buying a new console. You buy the new console at release because of the potential total library it may have in the future. Holding off in the hopes that the console may drop in price will never happen. Consoles don't drop in price any more. The original PS5 is still like 450 dollars and it's almost 5 years old now

4. Get a Switch 2
5. Touch grass, start doing it at least once a day for a good start.

A beefy PC can emulate the entire switch library. Download artemis/apollo to your phone and get a controller attachment like the gamesir X5 lite for like $20 and stream games to your phone and play them on the couch. See if you like it before investing more money onto a switch and rebuying games. For me streaming games to a device you already own with pirated games or games you already own on steam is way superior to rebuying them on other platforms.

Depends on what you want to play on the couch, really. If the Switch's library appeals to you and you don't mind having to buy games for it, go for it.
I like mine a lot despite also owning a beefy PC. It's not going to wow you performance-wise, obviously, but I think the user experience is pretty great. I mostly use mine when I want to kill time while traveling.

probably psp or 3ds are better but they are very overpriced ATM. Switch is easy enough to jailbreak but it's not comfortable to use as a handheld and official joycons are dogshit and break in a few years from drift. You will need third party joycons. Avoid the switch lite models because they are extremely difficult to jailbreak and they drift too but they are built into the hardware making the extremely difficult to replace.
