While enemies are flashing from being hit their collision hitbox is turned off though, so with some attacks that put you far into the enemy, like the Beast pogo, you can then proceed to dash through them if your timing is good.

One thing i noticed on my second playthough is that the game pacing is much better if you don't come back to certain places just because you have ONE thing to do there, but to wait unti you have a bunch of stuff to do there. For instance, i only came back to Far Field after i have the needolin to open the weavenest, the clawling to enter that cave, and also a bounty on the head of the Beastfly, and it was a much more satisfying bactrack.
Controversial but maybe a small rosary cost to Bell Beast travelling (but no cost to unlocking the stations) would help improve the pacing because no one would be travelling here and there all the time to run small errands.

At 3 hr 21 minutes into my speedrun achievement attempt, I have hit a wall with Trobbio. I hate him, I hate him so much. I'm using Reaper and I have 0 tools, mask, or spool upgrades. There's so much shit I saw on the map that I tried to get but couldn't without wasting 20 minutes because it was blocked off from that side, like getting a new mask or double jump is just completely not an option. I think I'm gonna wait on this until there's a way to practice bosses, because this is cancer. It should've been 9 hours instead of 5 because the game's three times bigger than HK.
Also all the written guides fucking suck ass becuase they also don't factor in the fact that you don't have all the shortcuts unlocked at the start of the game (they didn't mention the bells for the door or the fact that you have to get the white key from the corpse at songclave BEFORE sitting on the bench, otherwise you have to do a FUCKING WISH QUEST and BUY IT for 220 FUCKING ROSARIES). Really the only way to do this is follow a video guide and do the exact same things they do, but that's so fucking lame.

I think every heart in act 3 is meant to be a route-finding/map reading challenge this way. For me, Nyleth's path was in one of the last places I looked, but it's still on the border of the gap in the map so it's a reasonable room to check. I don't agree with calling it an "opposite direction", it's just a little indirect.

I woudn't mind gauntlets if they weren't mostly happening in normal rooms. Really, only the Coral Tower ones have any kind of platforming challenge.

Plus I think a gauntlet before a boss is more frustrating than fun. Even if you're playing with one eye on the screen, you're going to reach the boss somehow, maybe with a bit more or less silk, but that would hardly matter when bosses can comfortably take about 70 hits with the Pale Steel Needle to kill

I can't believe I didn't abuse the Architect Memory Crystal/Plasmium strat sooner. I didn't bother with it when there was limited supplies but once you get the Gland, it's absolutely insane.
Poison Cogflies/Tacks is good for just blitzing bosses from full but this strat is basically the closest to the retard rush approach from HK, all you need is a slight bit of aggression and to know the safest times to re-arm, and then you literally don't need to worry about the rest of the moveset.

Based Architects making this game playable for retards like me. Why aren't Shaman and Witch Crest allowed to be bullshit, actual muh difficulty puritans are just going to use Hunter and Wanderer anyway.

The only thing I missed after scraping is the Shakra and Garmond fights, so get that done. They also have Bestiary entries so it's annoying if you miss them, even if those entries aren't required for completion.
You also lose the two easiest rune farming spots, so I would recommend buying everything and loading up on Rosary Chains before triggering Act 3. You'll want to be able to just bust out 700 or so on demand at one point, and believe it not you will need to use a Rental Bench again at least once.

Also make sure you have your Courier quests (Rasher, and the Egg for Styx) done because doing those in Act 3 sounds like a fucking nightmare. Same for getting Fleas done also, backtracking through areas in Act 2 is preferable

Would a sequel where you control 2 characters at once be feasible for HK's style of gameplay? As in, you can switch between two active characters with different movesets, and maybe the off character even helps you fight with chip damage in boss fights.
And you can then potentially do something like have up to 3 unlockable characters, two of which you can use at once (Maybe the hollow knight, hornet, lace idk). It would kind of work like crests except you have 2 to switch between at once, and can do some autistic platforming, like one having claw line, while the other has shadow dash.
Also, if the hollow knight is free to wander around now, he's going to need a name.

Groal is actually pretty easy to neuter if you embrace the maggots. Almost all of his attacks can't reach you if you take a bath under the platforms on either side of the arena (you have to watch out for him choosing to resurface underneath you or adds doing the same but all you have to do is move to the other side).

Act 3 is was very blatantly designed to be difficult for the sake of extending play time and making you feel like you got more playtime out of it when in reality it has very little content.

For example the platforming when getting out of the abyss or when going to the nameless town has intentionally no flat surfaces to make you have to restart from the beginning even when you take 1 damage from the hazards. It's really obvious that is what they are going for because otherwise these areas are empty of content, but take longer because of this design.

Then you have bosses that teleport on top of you or have a second phase which is literally fast-forward on their attacks.

There is nothing to do outside these bosses so it is practically a boss rush.
