A couple of quick facts about spiders.
Almost ALL spiders are venomous with very few exceptions, despite this, only an extremely small amount of spiders have venom strong enough to have any effect on humans such as itchiness, fever, vomit etc. And if you want to talk about killing a human than thats even a smaller amount of spiders that are capable of that feat.

Not only that but even if you were to come across a spider with a venom strong enough to seriously damage a person, you still wouldn't be in danger. Spiders are extremely passive creatures when they interact with humans. They'd rather hide, run or pray you don't notice them. No spider is gonna drop down from the ceiling and run after you to eat you for dinner.

Most spider bites happen when a spider feels like its about to die, most often by being crushed. Thats why so many spider bites happen when we put our hands in small or dark spaces like our closets. We do't know a spider is there, she feels like she's about to die and does the only thing she can at that moment to survive.

But even if you were to be bitten by a dangerous spider (extremely low chances of this happening as established) there's a decent chance you'd still be okay. Some spiders can control the amount of venom they release and in cases of self defense, they often release minimal to no venom. I mean think about it, is the spider gonna eat you after it kills you? No of course not, it just wants to drive you away. Also, if you ever come across a more aggressive species of spider, chances are she'd make herself extremely visible to you as a warning. So even the aggressive spiders (the extreme minority) are nice enough to warn you and give you space.

And finally some random bits.
Spiders don't smell bad
they don't bring diseases
they are good for crops (they kill harmful insects)
they are a natural pest control, yes, even of other spiders

I literally purchase florida huntsman spiders to roam around my house and murder the bugs i hate, like "palmetto bugs", I also employ a number of smaller spiders on the home's perimeter to fight mosquitos and flies. If they grow too populous, I unleash lizards, and if the lizards grow too populous, I dont stop my terrier from killing them.
I also put a lotus pod on the door so that every single stupid faggot zoomie with a fake phobia that tries to show up at my house to sell me solar panels runs screaming.

I have arachnophobia, bad experience as a kid which wasn't helped when later on I got bit by a white-tail and spent a day nauseous as fuck. Plus huntsmans darting around the wall when you enter the bathroom doesn't help.
And having a funnelweb in my house one day didn't help.

But spiders in games either already look fake as fuck so they're not scary at all, and the ones that ARE unsettling to look at make the experience more fun because I'm feeling genuinely offput by them.
Though to be fair spider girls and driders and shit like that are my biggest fetish, out of some form of fearousal, so maybe I'm not the best example of an arachnophobe.

No way, huntsmen are cool too. They are ugly as sin (the naked mole rats of the arachnid world) but they are very chill and approachable. I'll agree that its easier to approach the tarantula initially, since despite the fact that they look very much the same as a huntsman, the chunky leggs and darker hair make them cuter.

I'm not entirely sure if they do and I only say that because things also move erratically when they are trying to do something and systems aren't responding, or sometimes it feels numb so your coordination is off, or just some signal that you aren't getting the usual feedback. Humans experience phantom limb, numb limbs, paralysis, limbs asleep, etc. So for all I know they can't detect something 'dangerous' is happening but may not be inhibited by actual pain.

Unless you live in a tropical country, there are no critically dangerous spiders.

Found this one on the floor a few months ago. Using minimal coercion (still on the floor), would timidly jump onto my hand then quickly jump off, back onto the hand again for a bit longer, jump off again, but then slowly started to get comfortable enough that it didn't jump off. I'd absolutely get some larger species of jumping spiders as pets if only they lived for more than a couple of years.

bruh those are literally the least dangerous spider to humans, they don't even move more than 3 feet from their web if they have any say in the matter and the most they can do to hurt you is set up in an inconvenient spot where your face gets caught in the web or listen in on your private conversations because the web's also useful as an acoustic mirror.

I have raised MANY MANY slings (I'm a breeder of Tarantulas) and I can tell you that they are chill. In 10 years of breeding I have only been bitten a handful of times.
I have even had great luck with the 'aggressive' OW breeds like the Pseudoclamoris gigas which has always been chill with being handled.

I wouldn't call it a disability, but it is definitely something I could do without. I've tried every single way of getting rid of this phobia, exposure, playing games like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (and beating it), observing and handling them irl, but whenever I see a spider, I experience a sort of primal "cold fear" that wells up deep from within me and occurs before I can even process what I am seeing exactly. I know that it can't hurt me, is not dangerous or poisonous, or that in a videogame it is fictional, but the feeling doesn't go away. I can obviously suppress it or get over it, but it's so deeply unpleasant, that I would rather avoid it entirely. What is also interesting, is that it does not occur with scorpions or beetles or any other insect. It is spiders and only spiders.
