In retrospect, Eddie feels a bit out of place in comparison.
James and Angela's past are really dark and both are going true huge trauma. One the guilt of killing her wife for horrible reasons and the other fir killing her family as revenge for all the torture she suffered by their hands.

Eddie was bullied at school and killed the bully's dog before shooting the bully's leg.
Yeah, a messed up situation, but not on the same level as James and Angela. Would make more sense if he shot and killed the bully or the entire sports team idk.
