Secure boot has only fucked things up for me. It never actually solved any problem. MS only introduced it to make it harder to switch to Linux

I can't disable secure boot for my brother's laptop because he forgot the BIOS password. Could I piggyback a debain iso to install Arch and grab Microsoft-signed shim keys?

Just take out the CMOS battery to reset the password. On modern motherboards, you might have to short some pin. But they all have a way to reset to factory settings. Just check the manual
