'Over hated' you mean? people gave it a chance and didnt like it for a variety of reasons. I would say its over hated but some design decisions were kinda silly, like playing telephone tag type quests where you are just a messenger that goes back and forth. the loading screens and cinematics for going into your ship then going into space then moving to another planet in space, etc.

The launch of this game wasn't my proudest moment. I still think there was a lot of undo hate toward it and a lot of bullshit claims were made at that time. But looking back on it this game fucking blows. It's a stain on their catalog. Something I'm afraid is impossible to salvage.

gunplay is straight from fo4
ship building was somehow more bland than settlement building or even camp building in fo76
story was a hot mess
world building had several fun points but was 90% nothing
resource grinding/management and exploration was completely unsatisfying
i dont think i liked even one companion
