It's bigger and there's more stuff, but the protag is basically Zagreus with tits but even more of a pushover. It's worth playing, but my main complaint (aside from it being a literal, completely by the books expansion) is that the combat gets very, very spammy. There's particle fx everywhere in the final zone particularly and the water area, and it's very difficult to tell what's going on.
It's very much a sequel where they just threw the kitchen sink at it. More of everything. There's too much of stuff, honestly. Systems bloat, weird crafting shit no one asked for, elemental shit tacked on to upgrades, etc.
I think Supergiant should stick to just trying new ideas, it's what their good at. It really feels like they weren't used to making sequels and went way, way over the line at trying to cram shit in to somehow justify the game having more or less the same plot, characters and gameplay the first one had.
