Reviews are pretty split. The one side seems to be a lot of kickstarter whiners. Maybe that doesn't affect me because I wasn't a kickstarter?

You know, Alien Isolation was overhyped anyway. That Alien wasn't a standout of artificial intelligence or anything. I don't know where that's coming from.

It was obviously just leashed to you and could do a bit of pattern recognition in harder modes to find your hideyholes.

Each new generation of scientists has to make new discoveries or else they feel useless and also won't get put on any magazine covers.

That's a big problem if paleontologists from 1980's already found everything. So what do you do? Pretend they are retards who missed the fact dinosaurs had feathers and there you go. New discovery made!

The bones haven't changed for a million years. The evidence is the same.

This happens in every field. Sometimes we have written records of anthropologists at the time, who actually saw things for themselves. Well turns out they were wrong. They just didn't know what they were talking about, even if they saw it with their own eyes and wrote it down for future generations.

Happened with Alexander the Great's wife.

We found feathered dinosaurs 50 years ago
Then we found skin impressions of 'unfeathered' dinosuars and they had feathers

It's not "we are working off the same fossils as 50 years ago"

We are finding more fossils with imprints of their skin and bodies and they clearly have feathers, which their skeletons alone don't show

We are finding entirely new evidence that is also corroborating previously found evidence we have known about for decades

I'm confused as fuck about this blue blood thing because I keep getting different answers. They say it doesn't make sense that blood would turn red when exposed to oxygen because oxygen is always in our blood, it's the whole point.

But we have deoxygenated blood in our bodies. And this heart chart shows the same thing. blue blood in, red blood out. and I can look at my body, I can see the blue ness through the skin.

Blood is red because it is oxygenated, pic related, venous blood on the left (which is still oxygenated to a degree: ~75% saturation vs ~95%), and arterial on the right

Veins you can see in your skin are blue because most of the red light is being absorbed and only the blue light is being reflected back (blue is a longer wavelength, it penetrates better), this is in spite of the fact the venous blood is actually a very dark reddish color (this actually means it's absorbing even more red light than arterial blood, which is bright red - reflecting more red)

Arteries near the skin surface (you might see some arterial capillaries on the thin skin of your eyelids) will appear pinkish-red as they reflect more red light than veins do.

Just looking at the skulls I can tell you straight up this is not at all whatsoever even close to how they looked.

The artist literally just overlaid a thin mm thick layer of skin over the skull, completely neglecting the existence of muscles, tendons, fat, cartilage, etc. Even the eyes are ridiculously undersized for the eye socket.

They stuck feathers on it and got absolutely everything else completely wrong

Blue is a shorter wavelength. 450nm vs 700nm for red. Red goes to infrared to radio, blue goes to UV to x rays. Shorter wavelength = higher energy = more penetrating.

If it could do that(it can't) it would automatically be one of the smartest AI's ever used in a videogame. That it can imitate it to a degree is still very unusual and pretty cool to see in a game AI.
>leashed to you
Surprisingly, no. At least during the more free roaming sections. In scripted sequences yes, it gets dropped in nearby, but it actually has a whole patrol system using the vents, where it will check for noise, environmental changes, etc and decide whether to spawn in locally based on that.
Guess it just goes to show that investment in AI is pointless in current year. Even if you try to build a fairly in depth agent that doesn't cheat excessively, it'll get written off as smoke and mirrors because that's what people expect.

The Dinosaur Feather Problem is an excellent case study to how truth is taken in modern society. When presented with new evidence and information (dinosaurs had feathers), the childlike wonder & love for scales induces a violent reaction in people. They feel that the science is violating their personal Truths and innocence, and have opposed it ever since. As such we encounter more and more the science being buried or even twisted to suit the narrative people want to hear most: that dinosaurs looked JUST like they did in Jurassic Park.

It truly is eye opening. This is how modern humans work on absolutely every level

Genesis being so fucking good is part of the reason that JWE is so bad. As a folllow-up, both it, and its sequel, are objective downgrades, in my opinion. 3 might be an exception, since it's getting a lot of the features that Prehistoric Kingdom has but without the "early access hell and no dino violence" drawbacks.
Honestly, I think that the advent of the "modern" dino game started with those two big kickstarter scams, Mesozoica, Stomping Land, etc, and that's generally what I was thinking of.

I honestly think lips are fine. Lips don't make bears any less cool or threatening, if anything the lips are one of the most iconic parts of when a bear roars. Same principal for a T-rex or other large carnivore.
I don't care if they wouldn't realistically roar, they would still make sounds of some kind in territorial threat displays and fights, all kinds of modern animals do that, no reason they couldn't or wouldn't, even if it was just a hiss or some shit.

For dinosaur video games to return to the mainstream, it's not about the design of the dinosaurs.
Like Dino Crisis combined dinosaurs with Resident Evil, they need to adapt dinosaurs to some other fun gameplay.

Humans have a tailbone but no tail so good fucking luck ever proving what an animal really looked like from a bunch of stupid motherfucking bones you dumb pieces of shit. You can't learn anything from a skeleton. Ravens have the smallest brains there are but are way smarter than animals with brains 10x as large. The rules are all made up you just won't admit it. pathetic.

Don't matter if the dinosaurs in video games have feathers or not because either way dinosaurs ain't real and all the science shit those proctolentogists say about them is mumbo jumbo anyway. You expect me to believe there were these big ass lizards all over the earth but then a rock came from outer space and killed them all? That don't make a lick of sense. What, did the rock bounce off one of them lizard's heads then hit another on the head and then another until it hit all of them all over the world and then they all died? We talkin bout a rock or a bouncy ball. Also good luck killin one of them big ol lizards with a rock cuz them bastards don't die easy. My cousin Skeeter found this gator by the lake once and he wasn't sure if it was dead or not cuz it weren't moving but he really wanted a pair of gator skin boots (now mind you Skeeter don't know the first thing about making boots but he figured if some kids in China can make shoes in a factory it can't be too hard since he's probably just as educated as they is) so he got a big ol rock and dropped it on its head an the sumbitch right near ripped his pecker off got half his left teste. Now if a rock can't kill no gator how you gonna go and tell me a rock is gonna kill some big ol lizards as big as a barn? Answer that you smart ass science guys

There was one for the 360 called Jurassic the Hunted
It fucking sucked though. It was basically just your run of the mill late 2000s console shooter on par with every other mediocre console FPS from that generation. Fucking dialogue was terrible too, mainly because they were strictly aiming for a T rating so instead of profanity characters often use words from the NATO alphabet like "What the foxtrot is going on here!?"
