You're right, although I think what's important is how Bridget's online identity of being an epic trap eclipsed his real identity of being sort of a tragic character, a boy who felt like his whole life was a performance and never had the ability to be himself. That's an incredibly different, almost contradictory perception of the character.

>It's weird because you never get the sense in the old games that he dislikes his girly side
There are several instances of Bridget in his +R storymode making some kind of reference to how his presentation is all an act, it's why he's so interested in become an entertainer. He even asks Baiken to help him be less ladylike. Bridget says explicitly and in several different ways that he doesn't really like the person he is and he simply does what he does because it's all he knows.
I think the reason people don't consider these aspects is just because the presentation of the character, visually, vocally, the way he moves, etc, is all super cutesy that they just don't think about it.
And, I'm not moralfagging and going "boo hoo people need to care about his real character traits!" I couldn't give a fuck. I like Bridget because he's a cute boy who is super feminine and that's unique, and he always seems so happy and energetic, in both games. I like the internet perception of him arguably better than the "real" Bridget because the real Bridget is kinda shittily written, although it could be a compelling arc in a movie or something.
Anyway, is Dual Rulers any good?
