>but there is some yet to be seen value
My point exactly "is yet to be written, so not pointless" is not something that sits well with me. You can say this about every plot point under the sun. Her being able to reach Alan is also superfluous and could have been easily just part of Mind Place kit.
>It's not bare, there might be a sequel where it's actually utilized well.
No, they didn't race swap the character for a plot point they are going to utilize in a potential sequel X years from that.
That's fucking demented.
>alans savior has to be closely related to door
What? Where did that caveat come from? Alan is utterly unaware of Saga being related to Door when he writes her in.
The whole point of the story is that Alan got so desperate he would write anyone in, only to regret it and reset it all to the starting point. Saga is simply one of the victims that ended up being more than what she appears to be, resolving Alan's groundhog day. It wasn't a setup by any means.
And don't fucking tell me Doors orchestrated it. He gets pissed off when he realizes how far Alan pulled Saga in.

>because it's never explicitly said he's Saga's father
There are three very blatant conversations that indicate he is her father.
Did you really need
>No, Saga, I am your father!
