I played Akumi Wars twice, loved the focus on gimmick builds over just pure damage. The ways you beat so many of the encounters is very fun, but some of them were infuriating too like the Void Portal and a bunch of characters originally felt too underpowered.
I swear somebody mocked Miltonius for how easy the last few missions with his OC were so he buffed the shit out the fights since I first played it because they're very painful now.

EDF's and GTA's baby

This is one of those choice matter games with a simple card battle in a grid.
I fucking loved it because it was just plain fantasy medieval and the church was le good, or at least it seemed like that because I often listened my cleric character advice.
This game really healed my chud heart, my only complain was that it was made in g*dot and crashed once every 3 hours.

Probably only played this one so much because it was one of the few games that was consistently available from Blockbuster, but I did eventually ask for it as a gift. I like that you have to buy decent weapons and shields for your Dragon and the different forms your guys can take. Though I'd also be lying if I said it wasn't easy to cheese some of the end game fights by simply reflecting breath attacks with your shield and then staying out of your opponent's melee range to time them out. Also dragons range from from the forms you'd expect to crabs to golems to insects to doors, and there's even super and mutant forms of all of them. Going through a Dragon's life just to see what it'd become and trying different phrases when you make them was also fun.

Everyone knows the IP but I never see anyone mention pic related. The review scores are horrendous, which I assume is what puts people off from playing it, and I don't know why. It's a bit janky but it's the type of jank that you can master, like tank controls. There's lots of fan service, unlockable costumes, you get cool gadgets, it has a cool over the top story, some Alien references, gameplay that makes you FEEL like the Predator™, good mission variety and it even has unlockable missions like in MGS. It's also literally the only game I've ever played with fun tailing missions because you can just speedrun to where your target is going and script the entire slow chase. Praying for a Nightdive remaster.

I thought this game was like, a super mario 64 tier classic until I learned it was almost Bubsy tier. 2 and 3 were both open world it was fucking insane.

I'm a metroidvania grinder and it's recommended decently often in the niche game threads during steam sales. It's sad that its whole aesthetic and structure got kinda blown up by Nine Sols but I appreciated that it was a much denser and more somber experience. Really the only time the pacing dragged for me was when a boss spawned in an area I'd cleared out ages ago and was required for getting the last mana bar, and also when I forgot the dodge roll could go through black lasers.

I liked it quite a bit overall, it's especially impressive for a solo project.

However, here's another RTS from the same devs - it's Lord of the Rings, except not BfME, that one was based on the movies. This one is based straight on the books, something about being easier to licence. As such, doesn't have the actors' likenesses in-game.

Nah, if you spend a bit fusing the runes it will make you strong, but what will actually make you OP is rerolling the shops for passives and skills to fuse together for the highest tiers.

This game was so bad. I bought it around release time since it was hyped up as an Earthbound-like. It ended up being a game where you can't even directly control yourself in combat and it's frustrating as hell.

I miss this game and all of its garbage netcode. Had a lot of good and frustrating memories. Probably spent around 2k on the gatcha at the time. Think about coming back to it again every now and then...

I can see why they changed the energy system but removing shit like team res for half your hp was shit. Years ago I tried it again and despite no one playing it anymore shit like Spikes are still delayed. Sad that they never followed up on it but the team split from what I remember.
