I'd probably go with Armored Core For Answer although I haven't played it in years
The mecha game I play most regularly is Titanfall 2 so maybe that counts too

Because those are pretty much the only shit you're going to want to use for most bosses if you're NOT trying to steamroll with the armed fortress/quadruped builds with max AP and stacked with four bazookas. Every other weapon may as well be superfluous fluff. Why do the ballistic rifle and submachine gun even exist in this fucking game? I also don't think I even managed to use the charge-up laser/plasma rifles even once. The sensitivity on the trigger buttons were so sensitive, game kept thinking I wanted to charge my shots when all I wanted to do was use the semi-automatic mode.

Basically, fuck this boring-ass, bare bones, half-assed excuse for an Armored Core that features some of the worst mechanics that were only cooked up to frustrate and waste my time. Fuck From Software, fuck them for not giving me another Tenchu, AND FUCK YOU.

It's a top-down shooter with base building and resource management on an alien planet. I can highly recommend it. Haven't played it in multiplayer yet though, which is also a big thing now.

The subtle lore touches in this and vn-like presentation really punch this game up. That tokyo bay level has a bunch of bio-domes on the water; they say elsewhere the government released cO2 eating bacteria to combat global warming and it destroyed the ozone / tokyo so they built those domes (which failed). Stuff like that is nice.

I finished ac6 on ng++ with the alea iacta est ending recently and I was wondering if I should check out the early games, which one should I start with ? Ac4 apparently is recommended a lot ? I'll need to fire up the emulators anyways I'm guessing

Most of them are worth revisiting if you're emulating them for free anyway
AC4 is good. AC4Answer is the best in the series but with the hard condition of you need to like super fast paced combat
The worst game in the series is V you can skip that shit without missing anything
For everything from AC1, AC2, AC3 and their respective subtitle games you can go with the general rule that the older they are the slower and clunkier they get, but even then they're worth trying as a curiosity if nothing else. I'd say pick one of the numbered titles first and if you enjoy its gameplay style you try the associated subtitle games next

Everything up to this point I agree with but the only boss in AC6 that sucks ass is the Ice Worm and the chute laser (if you count that as a boss). Michigan was fucking great and one of the few times the game stops being piss easy boring, should have more bosses like this in the expansion

Bounty Star finally has a release date for this month. Releases in a couple of days, actually.
I have some really mixed feelings about it, though. I like the wild west mecha setting, but it seemingly also has survival shit in it, and it looks kinda woke.

I'll keep an eye on it, but I'm waiting for some reviews first.
