gaytracing is a requirement for newer games to look slightly "normal". Indiana Jones is a game that looks vomit inducing without raytracing enabled. They somehow got the non-raytraced shadows to look so bad there it's like you're playing on the lowest of settings possible, even if you max out everything else.
More and more games are coming out with raytracing as a basic element baked in. What's more, they see it as less of an excuse to disable because performance has gotten better on newer GPU generations, even on AMD, so if the game runs at 60fps with DLSS or FSR with raytracing enabled on "modest" gaming PCs, it's "good enough" to make it a standard. What's considered a performance rapist now is path tracing.
So they better catch the fuck up or newer releases are just going to overall run like dogshit because eventually there won't be an option to disable raytracing, just "lower its quality".
