I hit about 10,000 subs on my youtube a year ago, I only upload once a month so it's not consistent and the viewership is pretty minimal (~1000 views week 1).
My twitch channel is pretty lively, average 40-50 concurrent viewers, I hit partner during covid (not affiliate but actual partner) cause I was getting 100-150 every single day. But now that I only stream 5 days a week and only for like 6hr instead of 12+, it dropped down a bit (plus, covid).
I don't really want it to get much bigger, I feel like I can actually talk to people at this size, people communicate with me, everyone's pretty happy, and I get to immediately fucking shut down retards talking about anything that isn't vidya without people whining that I'm not "commenting on the state of things".

The bigger thing is the games I play just aren't popular anymore, and I get 0 growth. When I play other things, no one wants to watch it, duh, they're watching me for my main game. So, I'm sorta trapped there if I want to keep viewers. Thankfully it's not my only (or really even a significant) source of income so I don't really care, and eventually I'll start branching out, but man, it does suck to go from 35 viewership to not even 10 when I play something else.

Becoming a vtuber is one of the worst pieces of advice you can give.
Not because of it being vtubing, but because it's expensive as hell.
A normal vtuber model goes upwards of $3k for a "cheap" one and if you use a png you need to either be established already or have a good voice (impossible if you use a voice changer).
It's better to just stay off-screen entirely until you can make a living off of it.

i have been recording some VODs of me playing stuff but i'm not really sure what to do with them myself, i don't have any commentary over them at this point. i have a couple of other vids on my channel but they aren't vidya related, i haven't uploaded in a year, i've only ever done this as a hobby.

My second video did 2.5k views and I gained 25 subs (from 0), all positive comments but one guy calling me a cunt because the title is sorta clickbait. Don't have the strength to tell him he's right but that's what you have to do if you want to build something from nothing.

A simple search could've answered your question. The point is that unless you were gifted with a pleasant radio voice, if you want to sound good you'll have to put in a little more effort than just plugging in a mic. Room acoustics, voice training, mic technique, choice of microphone, EQ, etc.

Only a few hundred views per vid, but I like making videos on smaller games that don't get a lot of love. It's cathartic for me.

Bros have any of you made an AI slop youtube channel and be successful with it?
I tried making an AI YT shorts slop channel about weird animals. I tried optimizing every single method to generate attraction. But nothing worked, the highest view count I got from a short video was around 2.6k views. Keep in my mind that I was uploading almost daily but somehow mu views fell of a cliff for around 3 weeks and never recover form that.
Then I tried making an AI slop history shorts channel. I tried the same stuff, I tried putting raunchy thumbnails and titles to generate clicks but i got the same outcome. Some of my videos got literally 0 views.
At last, I tried making youtube videos about sexy AI generated women because they get a lot of videos from clueless boomers and third worlders but it didn't worked at all. Also, my free kling.AI trial ran out so I had to cancel my project very early.
It seems like the youtube algo really hates me. I've seen other low effort Ai slop videos and they generate thousands of view right from the beginning. Why I can't beat the algorithm?
