There are issues, how you'll find them is up to you. Some things are dramatic for drama's sake, some raise concerns, others are so-so.
Personally I didn't find the endings too terrible, but that's because I get what happens, but a lot of people just call anything they can't get as nonsense, like the Human Reaper in 2.
It's not ffas great as it should've been, but it isn't nonsensical depending on person.

the ending complaints was a launch thing but they added dlc to improve it but it's still pretty meh. The overall game is pretty good though. My biggest complaint with it is it's pacing because you're constantly going back to the citadel for some reason or another. But it has some of the best moments. I get roleplaying on your first playthrough but what about if you like to replay the game with multiple characters? Are you all those characters?
I think about RPGs like being a novel writer. Sure authors and even game devs are guilty of making mary sue and gary stu self inserts but most of the time you are just writing a character.
I do the same for RPGs.
As for why female characters, because I like to glam them up and mod them. Ironically, it's via the male supporting cast that I would self insert with. If possible, like in BG3, I would create the actual cool dudes that are custom party members while I get to have the hot girl as the MC to give her more screen time.
