What makes this game so good to people? I'm a huge RE fan, love the series and I can't for the life of me understand why people suck this game's dick so much. Doesn't have the best combat or bosses, not the scariest, not innovative or revolutionary, it's a remake.

Best map layout, least railroaded, most fun to speed run, only added to the original instead of took away like the new remakes do, perfect atmosphere, perfect ambience, perfect music.

It's the only decent remake ever made actually made by a team of OGs that wanted to continue what RE was actually about
Also they added "alternate" controls for women, kids and dickheads so they can play too
Also difficulties which range from "kill zombies in two handgun bullets" to "only find two handgun bullets" which means more accessibility to said women, kids and dickheads

Bull fucking shit. It's the most linear next to RE2. You are ALWAYS railroaded into that retarded tutorial to get the Sword Key before you can even do anything else. RE1 was the only one that gave you anything in the way of freedom right off the bat.

I bought this game the day it came out for the GameCube and it was phenomenal. I was 14 and it scared the shit out of me playing it at 3am on Friday night. Never had an issue with the controls. The bosses are great and you don't have to fight any of them

I can't understand why people prefer it over the original. It's like they never even played the first one, and you should, once you get over the graphics you'll realize that it's not a remake but another demake. The original is fun , the demake is annoying.

The new control scheme, 16:9, and very easy difficulty were added in the shitty 2015 remaster of the 2002 remake. None of these are in the real game.

Unlike the other RE remakes, this one actually keeps the original content and adds a ton more on top.
Pretty sure you’re baiting, but if you’re being honest I’d really like to know what you mean.
I’ve played the original and the DS versions, loved them, and I thought the remake was amazing.
And please don’t say “the colors”… the remake looks way better with the toned‑down palette.
