It's fine for mindless power fantasy. It's basically Dynasty Warriors in space. You run around a map, obliterate hundreds of enemies by sneezing in their direction, get told Steel Path totally makes the game more intense and actually difficult, realize that's total horseshit, and go back to hitting damage cap with sub optimal builds anyway. It's free though and getting new Warframes and weapons is pretty easy and not too grindy with the notable exception of a handful which are a horrific grind.

My bad, I realize I am an idiot. I got the release dates all confused. It would be three boring frames, as Jade came before Koumei, not Qorvex. How the fuck did I forget about Jade and Dante? I don't know. I hear Qorvex is much better after an augment, but I haven't tried him since. And I also haven't tried Nokko. I played Oraxia for a while, maybe about three hours to play around with her kit, and i was pretty underwhelmed. She didn't really seem much like a caster, which is what I wanted from her. This is a baldfaced lie or, if I were feeling more charitable, maybe an opinion fresh from fucking 2015 or something. The problem with damage attenuation and the reason that they went through and either removed or reduced it just last week is that the entire playerbase has been bitching about it for years. It was inconsistent about what was and what wasn't punished, and it was absolutely a punishment for using the "wrong" builds. It was so harsh that any DECENTLY built weapons could be expected to have their damage reduced to 1% or less. Not only that, since Steel Path was added, they've been progressively adding more and more content where having competently built weapons and frames is basically the same as having permission to enter the content because anything not well setup won't be able to kill ANYTHING in a timely manner. In that environment, being told "no, you're doing too much damage, slow down" when it's just enough to clear trash is an unbelievable kick in the balls.
On top of that, there were situations, especially in EDA/ETA, where mission targets could become impossible to kill because of attenuated targets being given some kind of regen that outpaces the hard cap on damage taken.
It's a retarded system that exists to solve a problem that isn't real, because things can be made slower to kill by just giving them bigger EHP pools with zero issue, and it's a blessing that it's finally being taken out back.

Kinda the opposite? Most online games, you just get shat into the middle of the plot and just do shit they throw at you, but Warframe's run by madmen that keep all (99.9%) of content in, and don't really remove anything.
That said, you can legit play the game like it's a singleplayer game if you want, the story's pretty cool and playing in solo mode lets you pause.

i stopped playing roughly when limbo prime and the venus hub came out. not because i didn't like it but because it was getting too heavy on my toaster. when i got a better pc i lost interest altogether, warframe is nothing but a time sink with multiple grinding systems to keep you occupied.

This sounds false, it had some bugs involving regular enemy types that needed to be patched. I ran a quick archon hunt to test it out and the boss died within a reasonable amount of time. It's still the worst mechanic in the game but it's far better than it used to be.

Oraxia is a lot of fun, you get a ton of survivability and damage, along with some altered movement that takes some getting used to, but once you do you can go pretty fast.
Haven't played with nokko all that much but he was really easy to level.

Oberon trivialised steel path before. It's a little better on solo now and a lot worse as a support.
Emergency hotfix 2 removed attenuation from 95% of enemies because steel path demolysts and the scaldra ones were unkillable by average players. so they removed for now so they can tune it properly™ before redeploying it

I will not. Tried it and was pushed away when it introduced me to a hundred puddle-deep half-assed features and told me to grind for a few weeks to get myself something of value. Also, it felt like the difficulty was "just left click" or "fuck you, metacuck or die" with nothing in between.

Some of the frames are pretty cool tho and I liked Deimos' open world visuals.
