It's not my preference, but on most buttons it doesn't really matter to me either.
Clicky d-pads can be a love-hate thing. They're typically accurate, but with how hard you need to press for diagonals you'll probably dislike them if you aren't willing to adjust.

It doesn't. You may be confusing the develepor sanctioned aimbot that's in all console shooters called aim assist for your own aiming. I understand. It's an easy mistake to make for someone who's dumb enough to be fooled to use consoles. It's not your own aiming though, because sticks are inherently bad for aiming.

Game Bar is terrible. It's extremely cluttered, its screenshot feature is so much worse than Shadowplay and doesn't separate games to individual folders but instead slaps it into a general "Capture" folder (Unless they changed this recently), it's not exactly fast to open compared to other overlays, and it just feels worse to use in general. I have no idea why you would unironically use it compared to Shadowplay or OBS if you don't use an Nvidia card. I had to deal with it for Cuphead and then tried it again for Taiko no Tatsujin and vowed to never use it again it was so bad.

Xbox controller but a little worse. Everything feels good on it but the hole thing feels a little hollow. It'll do.

>PS5 0/10
Worst controller I've used besides madcatz. It may as well be a premium madcatz controller.
Buttons are ok. Dpad feels worse then every other ps controller. Triggers feels oddly mushy. Analogs feel worse then the above two. Whole controller just feels uncomfortable. Massive downgrade from even the PS4.

A high quality, "normal" D-pad is a unicorn, you may as well be looking for premium Skub.
A D-pad is a cheap way to get a membrane to contact a PCB for directional inputs, which made it quite useful when making cheap one-and-done controllers for Game-and-Watch ewaste, portable devices and cheap pack-ins for consoles.
The fact that this exists to enable grid-based movement is completely fucking lost in modern 3D games where you never want to actually use grid based movement, because it is such a tremendously awful and limiting way to do things, so that winnows away every single D-pad on a 3D controller, because there is no reason to fine tune the cheap input method.
If you're looking at a dedicated 2D controller, then that's still not even the best way to do things, because if you're already looking for a premium solution you will almost immediately land on arcade controllers (with or without levers) or something that is actually ergonomic and doesn't need your thumb to do all of the work, since you aren't wasting 3 fingers on holding a controller.

The most you can ever hope for is a D-pad that is barely good enough, because that's what they were designed for.

Microsoft gets all their controllers made in China, and 100% of them are defective as a result.
Stick drift will happen on every single official Xbox controller, regardless of model. The bumpers usually break too, and if you have an elite controller then the rubber on those will peel off. If you use the controller wired, then the port will also break.

It's been like this since at least the early Xbone days, and I am surprised people haven't started a class action against Microsoft because at this point everyone fucking knows they make controllers with dogshit quality that always break in the exact same ways.
