The combat is pretty good but holy shit is it boring as fuck roaming and backtracking around these giant labyrinth levels collecting random bullshit doohickeys to open a door on the other side of the map, with trash mobs respawning every time you walk more than 10 feet away.

Why do so many action games do this? Why are (classic) God of War and Souls the only action games capable of actually having fun, compelling gameplay outside of just the combat? And the worst part is these games like NGB and DMC3 can't even just accept that combat is their strength and focus on that, they pad like 2/3 of the playtime with this doohickey scavenger hunt bullshit.
