it's made by the same guys who did the 1st and 2nd Remasters which I thought were well done, they only really got to do any level design with Royal Reverie and even then that was just remixed placements, but it was nice enough
Not sure how I feel about the powerups, but I dig the time travel theme and new OST

Katamari is a great case study in how endless franchising of any successful video games does not produce more great games. That game became all it could be when the first one came out. That creative energy is better spent elsewhere.

What? No, the original Katamari was not all it could be. The sequel, We Love Katamari, is the game that pushed the concept to its natural limit. Every game since then has basically been a variation of We Love Katamari

I think the exact opposite, I'm surprised there aren't more Katamari clones because just using the same mechanics with different maps is an easy recipe for fun. The Wonderful End of the Word is the only one I can think of.

I've played various katamari games (ps2, ps3) at various points in my life, but fortunately knowing all their names and the order of their release was not a prerequisite for doing so. All I know was there wasn't much difference between the games despite their having different names I can't keep straight.
