You can jump right into Paradox. Pick Alice as your companion if you are really concerned. The Alice route is pretty similar to the original VN route, at least it starts that way. Half the point of Paradox is that you don't know what's going on anyway so being confused will be fitting.

You might want to check out the VN at some point anyway, perhaps once you hit the MGQP Part 3 content and have to deal with the MTL text.

Part 3 is out and is currently MTL.

It looks like the only version you'll find is the merged Part 1-3 now, so will have to suffer thru the MTL ending. There's a lot of additional content that Torotoro apparently wanted to add, including an entirely new endgame route, but the game it technically complete for now. People are waiting for patches and updates to finish before going in and working on the translation of the Part 3 stuff past MTL.

Depends. It elaborates on the setting a lot, especially the angels and illias. She has good character development over the course of the game. Her writing is so much better than Alice in Paradox it feels like the game was intended to be just an illias lead and the "pick Alice or Illias as the companion girl" at the start was tacked on relatively late in the writing.

In terms of visuals it's a bunch of stock rpgmaker stuff. Nothing good here, reused art of the girls from MGQ, lots of reused CGs too.

In terms of gameplay it's actually very good compared to most rpgmaker games, although it's because the systems are derivative of other good jrpgs. Every monstergirl is recruitable with unique dialogue when she's out in certain scenes. Even a bunch of the male characters are recruitable. All the characters are a job-race pair that determines their skills, equipment and stat bonuses, but they can swap those jobs and even races as they're unlocked, cross-train skills from one job into another etc, so there's a process of discovery as you find the best build for a certain character. It's designed to be completely broken in the higher difficulties. Given there's hundreds of different girls to recruit too it will take a while. The gameplay has no reason to be this elaborate for a h-game.

The Ancestors suffered due to his snuff fetish, Trtr realised too late in part 3 development that the Monster side far worse than the Angel side, so Kanade had her personality and role in the story deleted completely and Monster World Tamamo's Dr Mengele tendancies got dialed down a lot.

But part 3's writing suffered from a lot of rewrites anyway, we know that both Monster and Angel routes were cut down dramatically based off clues left in the files and the creation date of certain characters. For example Baal Zebub the Hivemind Calamity in the Chaos route was created years before almost every other Chaos route boss and it's much more likely she was just the original Beelzebub queen that Alice 1 had to seal away.

Luka was likely going to be seperated from the party during both routes and turned into the Worldbreaker and Judgement in each route and Trtr walked back on this decision too late after thinking about the party not having access to Luka for so long, evidence being unused faces for both and the forms just randomly appearing at the end of the route.
Nuruko likely had a much bigger role and either was Chaos or something close to it based off pic-related clearly meant to be Hilde's child and adult Nuruko has the exact same mask. But this one is a bit harder to argue because Chaos was drawn back in 2014.

Mastering all jobs is tedious time sink and job exp gain seems to be balanced around the assumption that you're only going to be mastering relevant jobs for any given character but the only way to know what's relevant is if you look up everything on a wiki. If you try mastering everything as you go through the story you end up behind the power curve around Goddard assuming you're playing on a higher difficulty.

Surprisingly, yes. There's a discord for the translation group Monmusu Quest! they've been translating it since the November 1st 2024 release.
In a week it will have been a year, the translation is 30% though the Monster/Angel world routes.
Chaos route is unironically 5x bigger than both Monster and Angel route combined. They're not finishing it for at least 5 years. The translation quality is good and there's nothing wrong with downloading their translation and then applying the machine translation to translate the japanese they haven't reached.
