I think it really is the straw that broke the camel's back. Here's a country struggling with birth rates that can't even have a functioning dating app anymore because Americans don't want them procreating with each other, they want to dump millions of indians on them instead.
this was basically called a conspiracy theory just a few years ago and Japan denied that they were cracking down on its industry at all until this happened and now it's a talking point in the Diet with major political figures running re-election on the idea.
