KWAB the fuck is Obsidian doing?

Yeah, not surprising
>Giggled at absurd worldbuilding
Reddit
>More prominent than the new planets to explore, though, is the distinct shift in tone. While there's still plenty of goofy jokes and ways to make your trek through corporate-owned space completely absurd, this sequel is much more interested in telling a grounded story. One that focuses squarely on the politics of the setting's various factions and repeatedly forces you to make judgement calls on which of these deeply flawed organizations is the lesser evil
I don't believe you
>When the Outer Worlds 2 is putting the political jockeying front and center, it's sick as hell, and without question has some of the coolest world building and satisfyingly perilous moral dilemmas I've seen in some time
I don't believe you

KWAB
>If you skip through a lot of dialogue, you'll be offered the "Foot in Mouth Syndrome" flaw, which gives you bonus XP, but forces you to choose all your dialogue options under a very short time limit before choosing an option or you randomly
Ok, this is pretty funny, actually. Not gonna lie.
>While the first Outer Worlds was mostly passable when it came to combat, this sequel manages to level up to generally enjoyable
This doesn't sound all that good, to be honest
>I found so many weird and unexpected weapons with unique effects, like a stealthy shotgun that fires shots completely silently and instantly melts its targets so bodies can't be found
Cool
>The six mostly memorable characters you befriend and travel alongside each stand as a representative of the respective organization from which they hail. For example, Tristan, a heavily armored brute, serves as the group's cop, eager to carry out his authoritarian government's twisted form of justice on pretty much anyone you meet, while Inez, an entrepreneurial combat medic, is constantly reminding you of the virtues of the so called free market enterprises she grew up with
Sounds boring and they look ugly
>Once its story of political intrigue kicks in and the new flaws and perk system gets its claws in you, it can be quite hard to put down. All these improvements put the Outer Worlds 2 that much closer to being the New Vegas successor we hoped this series would be, and that's worth getting excited for
kek so the best thing this review can say is that I should wait for an Outer Worlds 3 that will never come cause this shit is flopping. Cheers

This IGN reviewer also reviewed Avowed (7/10), Oblivion Remastered (8/10) and a Fallout 76 re-review a year ago (7/10). So that does slightly elevate the praise he's giving Outer Worlds 2 in my eyes, but I'll only believe this game is actually good if the few Obsidian playing friends I know tell me it's not a piece of shit. They all hated Outer Worlds.

lmao, just slog through the slop for the amount of time it takes you to beat a game that's actually good (Fallout 1 perhaps?), I promise it gets good bro. Obsidian should've stuck to stealing other people's games and then adding their edgelord writing to it, those are their only good games (KotOR II, Mask of the Betrayer, New Vegas).
