You can usually fix it by just disassembling and reassembling it. Maybe try to re-bend the copper thingy. I also added some epoxy molding clay on the hammers that press the switches since they had clear imprints of the switch button on it, which is what is actually causing the issues with double clicking and not being able to hold a mouse press.

I'm still using my mouse even though the LMB occasionally double clicks, RMB can't be held down, one of three thumb buttons is broken, and MMB and the wheel have been inoperable for years. My gamersmeg is too copious

Just a cheap fucker and I can work around it. Most games have RMB to toggle aim rather than click and hold, the double clicking LMB is less an issue than it sounds, and the fucked up wheel is a problem because a lot of games do shit like tie camera zoom to it but in most cases you can still ignore it. I've actually got a cheap shit mouse in reserve if this one completely dies, and I'm half-assed keeping my eyes open for another tolerable gaming mouse in the $20 range. Could stand to pick up a new controller too

I bought a quality mouse made in a first world country by people with an active interest in reliability, and so I've never had this issue.

Double clicking happens because the buttons are undervolted on purpose to make you buy a new mouse every 6 months. Sure, you can swap the switch, but you're going to have to do that every 6 months for the rest of your life.

These days they're starting to "fix" the double clicking with gimmicks like optical switches, so in order to continue the scam, these days they're putting fucking MECHANICAL ENCODERS in your scroll wheels. These things are literal junk.

it happens with humidity as well, as will all electronics not just mouse
Anonymous No.724096575 [Report]
>>724088316
it mainly happens to wireless mice because they undervolt the whole board to save power and that puts the voltage below specification for the switches, causing arcing.
not to mention the switches are designed for office use, one or two clicks per minute.

>Double clicking happens because the buttons are undervolted on purpose to make you buy a new mouse every 6 months.
excuse me?
double clicking happens because the little piece of metal inside the switch gets bent too much. opening up the switch and flattening it out gently fixes it. old mice didn't have this problem as much because this piece of metal was larger and more robust and as such didn't get bent as much.

It doesn't. Opening your switch up and messing with it probably removed some static buildup, or changed the contact point so the arcs are less common. It's a temporary fix for shit design.
Anonymous No.724097998 [Report]
>>724097232
it depends on the mouse

all mouses will have the bent metal issue, cuz the switches suck

wireless gaming mouse with high polling rate will have the voltage issue on top of that

This happened when I was drag-dropping files between two explorer windows. Those files were pornography. The double-clicking happened while the mouse was over a network folder in my school. I have no idea where it went or who got it. I didn't get expelled. Maybe they liked it?
