>rears his ugly head in when something is even remotely considered Valve
Honestly I've never had any opinion about him until right now. I specifically tracked down the Steam thread that was up to post this.
I was just consooming content from a microcelebrity in my niche microinterest and found a video featuring a Valve employee. I can't explain the relief that washed over me when I scrolled to the comments and there wasn't a pinned comment from ValveNewsNetwork going "Great video! If I may...".

Yeah, I'm thinking Gaben is based

he is old and dying
you think he was responsible for deadlock?
or cs2?
or the recent knife shit?
he is just there, in his yacht. playing dota.
Does a hell of a lot more than the competition. Most other PC platforms are just sales and downloads and jack shit of anything outside that scope.
Battle.net is old as shit too and could have easily taken a similar path but never did.
Epic doesn't have much going for it either, but at least brings unreal engine and cross platform play to the table, both of which are weak points for Valve.

What causes this strain of brainrot where people who are not even involved in business start adopting the "more revenue = better line go up" mentality?

People learn baseline economics of what they think is good/bad and apply it across multiple demographics and angles if it supports their ideals or company they’re going to bat for as a way to dunk or bait people

Wait a moment didn’t Maplestory invent Lootboxes in 2004? I get the whole post is bait but you can swap that to paid mods to be actually accurate
>>724106410 >it's cultist to say a company should improve their product and store over paying for paid exclusives >posts some 3 companies that pay for exclusives over having a good product >one of them suing over fucking gameplay patents so they can keep making shit pokemon games for eternity
>>724106946 >wins by not having paid exclusives >wins by actually having basic functionality like a shopping cart and the ability to move games between different drives
yes, no fuck off timmy
Valve thrived because >Gaben is lazy and only changes things when he needs to do so >it's a private company, so Gaben is immune to retarded board members pushing idiotic, short-sighted decisions on him >all of Gaben's enemies are evil, short-sighted retards
