Sasquatch and other Yetti Units are older model techno-organic environmental suits we stuff remote greys into to explore earths environment, monitor the air and microbial ecosystem, and collect samples. They're modelled after a now extinct pre-human homonid. Until around the 1970's we didn't actually know they went extinct between our last visit and the current series of inspections. We didn't have an alternative that would fit in with the current ecosystems until our new human ones fielded in the 00's. We sent a requisition for the means to make an updated one when we realized our mistake, but our governing authority are cheapskate fucks and told us to run through the inventory of old suits first.
