Because its more than just combat or puzzles or whatever, its the synthesis of all its parts and its overall vision, having a group of extremely talented and passionate game devs working on a new medium (3d games) and trying new things out. BotW is good, it's just not a very Zelda game, and drops the ball on a lot of things. TotK is in slop territory more often than not, which proved to me what I already knew- BotW was almost terrible, and definitely not almost amazing.

Unfortunately not. I also don't like the direction BotW and TotK took. I also don't like how Kirby and Donkey Kong were also basically given the same structure as Mario Odyssey. And now they're shoe-horning open-worldishness into Mario Kart and Metroid.

You know what I want? I want a four-player Star Fox game. Instead of the CPU controlling Falco, Peppy, and Slippy in scripted moments, let four players strategically take on a level together, and decide how and when to split up to take on different objectives before coming back together to defeat a clever boss.

I don't think the pre-botw games sucked or anything but I never really got any enjoyment out of playing them. botw was the first zelda I truly enjoyed playing

It's surprising to hear someone giving the game such overwhelming praise? I tried to replay it a year ago, and it was absolute garbage. Couldn't even get to the goron mines because of how absolutely terrible it was. The forest dungeon was boring, the boss was boring, combat was braindead, the world felt lifeless and not worth interacting with, the NPCs were one note and barely even felt like they would offer anything, so I actively avoided them.

Thoughts on this 'leak'?
I believe weapon durability is definitely coming back, alongside the BotK Hyrule still being reused, only because the Switch 2 can probably handle TotK's map and even more in one card.

Getting to act 3 in Expedition 33 made me realize exactly why Botw and Totk are unsatisfying. It gives you all the tools at the start of the game and tells you where the final boss is. This is just like how act 3 is in E33, you get all of the movement abilities and you can end the game any time by going to the final boss, but you had to work for that. Maybe if in Botw you had to unlock swimming, the gilder, and the runes one at a time it would have been much more satisfying to have the whole world in your hand.
