Feels like legitimate story telling game trying to do its thing, but at the same time, half of it is devs (including most of the VAs) jacking themselves off with jarring humor and jokes. Going again with half of them landing and half of them just...flat. It's confusing.

I don't think water-cooler talk is selling this. The selling point is that jackseptic and moistcritikal are in it and their audience doesn't have the patience to follow along week after week (they wait for charlie or some other tuber to drop a video on the matter).
