It's worse. I'll give you an anime analogy because you may be able to relate to it already. You start watching anime, and you really enjoy the vast majority of it, if not for the story outright, then just seeing the medium. Then, once you've experience enough of it, you start seeing how repetitious it all is, how you can predict the stories, how you don't enjoy them in general, and it takes a much bigger "hit" to even move you. The same thing will happen with games. You'll experience enough of the ones (or genre) that you enjoy, then they'll all slowly start feeling like a slog, and when you notice a downturn in actual quality, zoomers will tell you it's just nostalgia and games have always been shit, because they don't know any better. You'll spend years trying to chase the one or two standouts, barely having the energy to give them a try, then you'll resign yourself to consuming media that's people consuming video games (like streaming or 4chan) because you can't make yourself play anything anymore. You'll linger on and I don't know what's next because I haven't gotten past it yet.
Just remember: young people and people who haven't played a lot of games will ALWAYS have shit taste because they can't help it, and insist they have AMAZING taste. This is universal and unstoppable. It would like trying to convince a 4 year old that the baby shark song isn't the greatest thing to exist.
