It's a cooldown-based TPS with autolockon.
There are no ultimates so there's far less metastrategy cancer like overwatch.
Balance is a bit iffy but there is a lot of opportunity to outplay people with actual skill.
The big drawbacks are unavoidable bot matches when the server can't find enough players of similar skill in a set timeframe, and insane prices on everything that should be called Macrotransactions.

OK so I don't really care about the mechas for now, and I've been photographing my pilot wife.
Photo mode camera is bad to use but the amount of things you can do with the character is quite insane. Never seen that before.
I've been putting my character in very kinky situations and wonder if the screenshots are being sent to their servers, that'd be funny.
Also the fact that we can't remove our name and the game's watermark for the picture... like, why?
But this is a dream come true. Shame about the focus on PvP though.

I always gravitate towards support roles in games. As Luminae how much am i suppose to healbot vs attack people? I pretty much just followed Tricera/Stego around the whole match as a heal bot and only switched to damage mode when the enemy was almost dead/everyone was full.

This is an issue but it actually leads to a bigger issue with Mashmak: The effort is not worth the reward. Let's say you're in Mashmak, you're on a tear, 40 minute + run. Then you get ganked going to the exit and lose everything. Your reward is a thimble of fucking Mission points. A thimble you likely got more of, in less time, just playing the PVP mode which probably took 5 to 10 minutes.

Who the fuck is going to spend minimum 20 minutes, if you're in and out. Minimum 20 minutes on Mashmak with a high risk of getting fucked... instead of just... playing PVP. And then the Mashmak achievement with a cosmetic is for 540,000 Points!

Speaking of complexity, the way you would deal with someone with a gear diff in tarkov is Head-Eyes, Leg blasting or an impact grenade, especially the grenade for camping. MB doesn't have any of that, so extraction camping is far more effective because there's no way to end a fight quickly.

I swear Pinaka's heal doesn't activate unless you specifically activate the leap which is a separate ability when you hold the button. I fucking stared at an ally at low health, face range, and the heal would not activate.

Completed the last tutorial challenge (Kill 18 Strikers) with 25 seconds left. Found a big time save is to take out the aerial units with the downward stab. It impales them, dragging them to the ground and almost instantly kills them.

Panther. He has swappable shield/sword which you can use for blocking damage or parrying melee users, and swap to sword for combo start. Then you also have the body shield you can use to not only block damage but avoid melee stagger strategically, and you need to remember to turn it off to regen it. I'd need to see what you're doing but bear in mind you want to travel on the ground when possible, air boosts take way more EN than ground boosts. Memorize where the blue crystals are on every map, they increase your EN regen greatly when you stand next to them. In general you want to always be aware of when you're about 1/3 or 1/4 away from being out of energy and disengage then, using your ranged attack to harass, because being energy overloaded means you just die instantly.

Aquila right now in particular absolutely needs some tuning because he shits out damage that bypasses your fluid armour, can put you in a cuck cage and for god knows whatever reason is also able to outspeed anybody in the game due to having effectively two energy bars with the flight mode, and while you tie yourself up trying to deal with his ass, some combination of the other 14 mechs in the game are going to fuck you.

So all in all, pretty fun I'd say.

I didn't get to see it in the last beta but two and three betas ago I think the cuck claw was the worst thing about it, now it's gotta be a mix between the direct damage it does or the stupid amount of energy it has to just keep flying around way longer than even the fliers can. I think in general boost dashing has had its energy consumption increased a lot, so melees have a much harder time chasing it down and if you aren't breaking lock with maneuvers on Falcon you're gonna get utterly fucked on it too.

Ultimately even if it sucks I think hitting the mobility is probably the way to go because if it can't do damage anymore nobody'll pick it, whereas if it can't fly endlessly anymore it can still put up a decent fight if you're good at aiming.

Put the decoy behind something hard; it should never be seen. If you have nothing to shoot, and it's not because you moved in advance to an objective, move so you have something to shoot. Use the grapple and then dash away for 3 seconds of stealth if you cover open ground. Your unscoped shots are very good; use them if you need to finish someone off, Narukami is very quick. They also do a lot of damage to Tricera's and Stego's shield. Spam them with unscoped shots, and charge only after they have no shield, or aren't using them anyway.

Good Falcons will kill you, at least they did in the previous tests (the main killer feature, spin, was nerfed so I don't know the current state). You can't really help this. Hope you have a friendlies nearby, if such an event happens. Most Falcons are bad however, and will die to decoy and unscoped shots spam. DO NOT run away until it has used up the radar, or it'll just follow and kill you. To shoot at Falcons specifically, but you can and should use it for other shots as well, turn off lock-on. The key to do it is not bound by default. If you don't have lock-on, the Falcon doesn't get lock on warning, and you can get a free shot in, assuming you can hit it. Try to get at least one full scoped shot in before dueling a Falcon, or you might run out of unscoped ammo. The decoys add a small amount of damage when they shoot, which adds up in a duel. but is irrelevant when your full scoped shot does +40k damage.

When you can, try to stealth cap objectives. You aren't actually invisible when doing it, but you can't be locked on.

Nothing funnier than standing on a Tricera's head shooting past their shields as Alysnes, they're so mad and they can't open the shell or die to everyone else attacking them. Last round I was armoured out but just got high above the tricera, poke out, shoot, poke out, shoot, right until they were low enough to cut em up. We went from 0-6 to 7-6 in like 30 seconds and I just kept alive to win the round. It's so fucking hard to kill Alysnes with even the slightest situational awareness. Though I do feel guilty about peacing out to wait for my armour to come back.
It's also funny to parry any Panthers. No I promise this time when you charge I won't whip out the shield and stab you with my halberd. No pinkie swear, just charge in, I promise.
