It's not even a duopoly. Sony has their market and Nintendo has theirs. Consoles and handhelds are different, even the games on Switch and Playstation are drastically different(Switch doesn't get most 3rd party games and has exclusives Playstation will never have). They're not competing at all and that's the worst possible outcome for consumers because it's legitimately just 2 monopolies.

The only ways that can change are if Valve releases a Steam Machine 2 that sits under your TV and automatically gets the correct proton settings so even retards can use it or if Sony actually tries to fight the Switch with their upcoming handheld. I feel like that handheld might fuck Sony in the long run though if publishers optimize their games for it then they might as well optimize their games for the Switch 2 and suddenly Sony would solve Nintendo's third party problem.
