Recently replayed Simon's Quest, and I got no clue why SotN gets called out as the easy Castlevania. Besides the kneeling crap with the crystals, 2 is a braindead simple game. All of the enemies are chumps, the whopping three bosses are lame, and even if you die you don't lose any progress. Exploration is just "Go right until it stops, then go left until you're done."

If you walk into the cerberus boss room and then walk out before you get locked in for the boss fight a female voice will do that surprised/pained scream alot of the enemies use. No. HoD's problem is that the A/B castles blend together and are a hassle to navigate between. The level design still has points of interest in it. Having to jump or avoid a spike in Lament of Innocence feels monumental it happens so rarely. I've played both of these games within the last three months.

A 2.5D Metroidvania game(I would love sprites but I don't trust them to get a good team that can make nice looking sprites nowadays) that takes places during the 200 year gap where no Belmont had the whip so they had to fight with other means(which would give reason as to why a Belmont isn't using the whip.)

I finally went through the collections on Steam, Circle of the Moon, Aria and Portrait of Ruin were my favorites. Richter hard mode in Portrait is almost as fun as Rondo.
