I'm not super in love with StS myself but I like Yugioh and Chrono Ark feels really good for me.
Deckbuilding is heavily built less around making one god-build and more making a build that will be able to handle the bosses since many bosses need different builds.
There's a minimum deck size of 20 (+ Lucy Skills) so while there are ways to set up infinite combos you can't really do it reliably and you need to thin out your deck in the middle of the fight.
The game is heavily built around real-time decision making (especially since enemies can act during your turn) rather than the common deckbuilder where once you have your optimal deck built it's pretty much gg.
Damage is insane due to the Pain system and it being party-based so it definitely has the swinginess that you would expect from a less Western card game.
The characters and bosses are rather complicated, a bit of an entry barrier is just figuring out what everything does but once they click it ends up being super satisfying except Shiranui's gimmick
Honestly I'd say that it feels very much like a "Yugioh" of deckbuilders in that it's faster and more complicated and there's really nothing else I've seen quite like it.
also it has a psychotic big titty religious zealot with a baseball bat
