I'm not like other JRPG weebs, I only played every Persona game three times before deciding I didn't like them then telling you my favorite MT game is Maken X

Time to graduate to SMT, every sane weeb grows out of their "I wish I lived in japan" phase in their 20s.

I'm over 30 and I love these games

>"I wish I lived in japan"
It never had anything to do with that for me. Its just a setting for a story. I always likened it to playing through a good anime.

>being a young hip high school kid in Japan is so excitinggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, you're going to outgrow that pretty quickly.

Is that really the reason people play Persona? I thought it was for the story, interesting characters, great music, and engaging turn based combat

It's mostly a problem for P5. The writing was just terrible by that point.

same except i still like p3

You kept playing this shit after Persona 1? It's obvious that this series is Atlus slop

Its like playing through a mediocre slice of life anime, the audience for that are weebs who wish they were Japanese. It isn't just a setting, the mechanical structure of the game is trying to emulate a Japanese high school students day to day life, the rewards are VN style romance interactions with school kids.

I'm just glad the core talent behind P3 and P4 also aged out of persona and went on to make metaphor which is closer to their SMT roots.

you should not be playing jrpgs after 25 at the latest, they are games for early teens

They are also for depressed salary men who want to vegetate to bed time stories.

Huh, maybe I'm not enough of a weeb then. I enjoyed the novelty of it, but I never once thought that I wanted to be japanese while playing. I liked the stories of the games too.

I do like SMT and now Metphor more than Persona. I just think Persona is cool too.
Anonymous No.724598080 [Report] >>724598271
I have Persona 3 remake, 4, 5, and Metaphor and have failed to complete any of them I just stop playing one day and have no motivation to go back.

Anime morals are juvenile at best. It's more of a dialog to dialog enjoyment than enjoying a deep story.

They are long games. I don't start playing one of them unless I know for a fact I have nothing else coming up I want to play. I also don't play them close together.

>do like SMT and now Metphor more than Persona
Then you aren't primarily a persona fan and aren't the type of person I'm talking about. The games aren't terrible but I have no idea why you would be particularly attached to the formula or series without having the affliction I was talking about.

I’m almost 30 and still love Persona. The only difference is that the characters I like change. I now appreciate characters like Mutatsu the monk.

>MCs are ALWAYS highschoolers
Yeah japanese media in general I feel you, it's pretty stupid especially in P5 or media like Persona Trinity where they straight up confirm it's not an age thing and adults can have persona's too.

what the fuck is going on in this thread

I disagree, they're amazing, but their fatal flaw is they don't really respect your time. Which is kind of a problem endemic of JRPGs as a whole

You forgot made it look worse, visually. I've played multiple PS2 JRPGs with more stimulating visuals than whatever the fuck they were going for with this shit.

just give me Persona 6 or a different game like Metaphor

This
They are for a salaryman to spend the hour and a half per weekend he has meticulously carved out for free time, reminiscing about high school, the last time he was happy.
Of course HIS high school kinda sucked, so he has a fictional high school experience to reminisce over instead.
Repeat every weekend until he does to stress, suicide, or the yakuza sending a message to his boss.
