In the context of the crap /v/ likes, when I look at the catalogue and it's pretty much just shitty open world console rpgs, if we look at it from that perspective was this guy even wrong? The plot of TLOU2 is actually completely fine, it's just the marketing of the game and the way the twist was revealed which caused the problem, combined with chud rage from there being a strong female character

I don't have a problem with the "twist" at the beginning of the game that everyone is complaining about, I just can't play this game for more than 5 hours before I get bored out of my mind even though I 100%-ed the original game. In the first game the characters felt like real characters I got to know and cared about and wanted to see what happens next. Here I couldn't even give a fuck what happens next, because I never cared about these characters. I tried to get into 2 two different times and nope. It's just bad.

you failed to write a revenge story, drucc man, the most basic boilerplate narrative possible. you need to have ellie get her revenge and then deal with the consequences. no one gives a fuck about abby or evil scientist man. all you did was reveal definitively that bruce straley is responsible for everything anyone likes about the first game.

The first half was fine

The second half was so ham fisted its not even funny "see don't you feel bad for killing that person, can't you see you're the real monster". There is no subtlety it just tries to cram it down your throat. And the big humanizing moment for Abby is supposed to be her caring for a girl that feels like a boy so she cut her hair? The tranny and her sister have no characterization, there is no reason to like them. The only reason you're supposed to care about her is if you already bought into the ideology.

Honestly the game feels like they gave up on their vision half way through. The beginning of that game is actually really good. The gameplay is really fun. The environments are interesting and the game encourages you to explore, but as it goes on it gets more and more narrow, until it turns into what feels like running down a narrow corridor from cutscene to cutscene.

Uncharted 4 DLC was kinda foreshadowing of how TLOU2 was gonna turn out. Charisma of U4 characters is completely gone; Nadine is still a massive asshole without any redeeming qualities (which kinda worked in U4 itself when she was a hechman type character), Sam is now completely bitchmade, getting bossed around by a girl, and Chloe is just too boring. U4 did so many things right, but no matter how good these games are, narratively-driven games like this don't work well without good narration, and that's exactly why TLOU2 feels like ass cancer even though it does everything else right
it really sucks because sometimes I feel like we're never going to get an adventure game like Uncharted 4 ever again.

The only one that was good in terms of gameplay was Tflop2. The story was horrific.
