Then yes. I usually spend time in the mines since you can find actually decent spells down there. Once I have a decent machine gun, I head down to Hiisi base and then try to start making my way back up before I hit the jungle, then I try to kill the alchemist. After that, I hit the fungal caverns and then look for a healing spell so I can make a healing wand, then I fuck off to either left or right parallel worlds.

outside of wand builds and perks there are many things that you can do to help you beat the game

always carry water with you, if you are soaked you can't catch on fire and water will remove toxic etc
you can turn toxic pools into water by pouring some water in and shooting to mix it

concentrated mana melts metal walls
you can turn a big pool of water into concentrated mana by pouring some in

the hiisi base always has a spell shop on one side near the top
always pick up broken wands
you can fix them and turn them into useable ones (with spells) at the repair room in the bottom right of the hiisi base, just throw them in the room

there's also the tablet cheese, but I never use it personally

The easy mode is a trigger spell + homing + as much plasma as you can find.
It will absolutely fuck up anything it hits, and from there you just have to avoid getting swarmed or shooting it near a wall and having the spell home in on something behind you.

I finished the game and probably 99%'d it (I'm not gonna sit there and hunt every single fucking spell down even though I probably have almost all of them unlocked), and I never built any wands outside of basic "I put this spell so I can dig better or this so I can kill this nigger spider that's immune to everything else" and I never bothered to learn more than "More Mana" is nice to have and Black Hole + Fast Projectile = good and don't use Instant Death Spells without delay cast.
Nothing in the game requires you to build death wands outside of 31 orbs 3 Eyes, who you have no reason to fight since we can't even get the Amulet of Yonder without exploiting.
The only other challenging boss is Connoisseur and you can just cheese him with two emerald tablets.

That's not really a... super-secret mechanic.
Bones files (and the subsequent ghost appearance) is a thing they pulled from nethack's (and some other classic ASCII-ass roguelikes) playbook.
Though nethack saves the entirety of the level that you died in, and randomly swaps it in. You even get to loot almost all of your old stuff, most of which will be cursed.

Noita veteran here, the most important thing to get good at this game is to learn to peek over a dark zone which you have no information of. Most people can't explore an entire area because they receive chip damage several times, mostly because they carelessly entered a zone with no information of the enemies in it. This game makes you go downwards because you're more vulnerable by going down, so when I was learning how to make wands I always explored each area like pic related.

You can learn all secrets and wand mechanics you want, but they're useless if you can't fully explore the snowy depths for spells and wands, only because machineguns and hiisi snipers ate your health bit by bit.

Going upwards is normally safer because bullets can knock you downwards, and if you already cleared a zone downwards, then you won't fall to the unknown. Also escaping a bad situation by falling is quicker than flying. As a bonus, but only doing it when you're a noob, if you hug the walls you normally have to worry about less fronts.

Rotate Towards is better than standard homing in some cases.
Homing will cause a projectile to change velocity, rotate towards will not.
When using an accelerating Bounce Ball Or Sawblade with Projectile damage mods wand, rotate towards will keep increasing momentum while homing will make it stop

experiment and tinker with spell orders, it matters a ton.
as far as killing yourself, if you're unsure what it ACTUALLY does then cast it by itself in a safe area on a wand that has no spell mod.
lightening bolt on a high MP spell with low cast/recharge times will also take you very far. just remember to not have it equipped when you're in a pool of liquid.

My best run I was using these abominations until I accidentally killed myself by fighting a gay fucking rock or teleported myself into a puddle of polymorphine and got shot in the face by some faggot. Hard to remember.
First one makes fires enemy-seeking projectiles that goes through matter and can hurt anything, including those robots in the Power Plant that are immune to all damage until.
Second one is just a random wand I found.
Third one rapid-fires circles of healing.
Fourth one lets me telefrag enemies and summons one-frame blackholes. It's cool.
