I don't think so. >>724788928 >>724789368
So just a contrarian thread then?
>>724789493 > So just a contrarian thread then?
Every "overrated" thread is just people trying to out contrarian each other posting the same games over and over.

Truuuuue. I don't doubt that it was fantastic on release and even for quite some time after release, but it's not really much in the eyes of someone who's familiar with stand-out media that's come out since then and doesn't have nostalgia goggles. One praise I will give it is that it aged better than Earthboud.

I already know I'll have to defend this one so I'll just say that RDR2 offers something no other game does and that is an unparalleled open world simulation, the whole appeal of this game lies in spending time in that world, not its game mechanics or mission design. The thing that makes it worth spending hundreds of hours in is the world itself, there's nothing like it, there's nothing even close. >>724789920

Consolefags had their first Doom outing and hold it up like the best game in the franchise, then cry when the next game expects them to learn how to play properly.

There's nothing overrated about it. It's mechanically dense character action in the shape of FPS. The only reason people disliked it is because it breaks the genre conventions which is usually just power fantasy corridor shooters. There's a reason for emergence of "boomer shooter" as separate entity. It's not just retro styled games. It's rejection of evolving genre.
