The writing is awful, too quirky, and trying to be too clever. There's a lot of therapy speak as well. Probably the worst episode. Also no dispatching minigame.

Where things actually start, it's good enough.

This shift is bad 'on purpose', and you might have invested points in a character you're forced to cut.

It starts with a girl having a wet dream and ends with a date choice. But the dispatching minigame is a letdown in this chapter as it doesn't last long enough, especially if you tell the Riddler character to go fuck himself.

I do in fact know more than my fair share about writing, and episode 1 had the worst writing out of all of the episodes. Everything about the opening scene is wrong, it's trying to do this fake out where you think he's talking to his therapist but he isn't, but it leaves you with the question how they started this therapy roleplay to begin with. And then there is the tone issue, where it is supposed to be serious but they want it to be funny because the rest of the game has a lighthearted tone.
The writing gets better with episode 2, however.

Well Waterboy has constant diarrhea, Sonar has his whole transformation thing and how he has to basically eat like a wild animal, BB has trouble feeling much of anything. Flambae is fireproof but his follicles aren't. There's drawbacks but to what extent seems to vary from person to person.

Part of it is just the fact that it's going to be a more succinct story than a full length multi-season series or 90 hour visual novel.

But I actually like how blunt they make her about it? Visi has a wet dream about someone she works with but it's not like she leaps on it as a true-love-at-first-sight thing either. She tells him about it flat-out because she likes catching people off guard and plays off everything as an off-kilter joke. Then when he's in the theater with her she questions if they're actually friends now or not, or if he's just trying to fuck her, but she finally lets her guard down in the end and they just enjoy a simple moment together. For as blatantly sexual as her dream was at the episode's starts, it's nice that the actual "date" is just them doing something dumb like sharing over-priced movie snacks together.

From what I've seen seems more like it ties powers to some kind of physical process. Like Chases powers require putting his metabolism into overdrive, aging him quickly. Waterboy clearly processes liquids too fast, he could probably dehydrate himself in record time.
Holding your breath does some automatic physical changes to your body, triggering reflexes and such that might be what allows Invisigal to turn invisible. I think the asthma is just because she smokes.

Her powers don't make sense. she can clearly be invisible and run around and punch and kick way too much to actually be holding her breath the whole time while using her powers. In episode 3 during the team meeting from the moment Bobert enter the conference room to the moment she appears is like a full 4 minutes. That inhaler must have a hit of pure Oxygen.
