True steam has been great for pirates and steam deserves to be stolen from with recent events. It's a great thing to steal from steam.

They deserve to be stolen from for being pro censorship and bending the knee to payment processors instead of shutting down steam disabling the purchasing of games for a week until people protested enough against the payment processors.

First its adult content and rape games women don't like, next it will be political censorship on wars and countries that are not to be slandered and then hate speech about hurting game devs feeling in the discussions.

It's not that Steam is the only distributor of PC games, I'm not against porn games at all, I just want them to go somewhere else, like Itch or something.

You're delusional if you really think that. A lot of games wouldn't exist if it weren't for things like early access and Kickstarter, people simply didn't have the opportunity to even make games.
For most indie developers it's not even about making money and getting rich it's just about having something to eat while you work on your game.

Then if owning never meant owning the actual game data on the disc then pirating never meant stealing because its literally not theft. the only reason it works the way it does is because of how ownership works, and how nobody's actually tried to legally clarify how digital ownership works outside of the shitshow that is copyright. if they just said "you own da game" then it'd give you legal right to copy the code and resell it.
licenses are explicitly so that you can own the right to play the game while not giving you the right to copy and resell.

You can keep playing in a lot of cases, unless the game needs internet connection. You're pirating, by the way, it doesn't matter if you have a disc, because according to the TOS you agreed to you don't own its contents.

They don't need to touch your physical game to revoke it. The disc doesn't matter at all. If they know at all that you exist, they only need to send you an email saying "we revoke your loicense, goy", that's literally all it takes.
Of course, if you bought a single player game on a disc, never connected it to internet or anything, then they don't know that you exist. On the other hand, they could make a general official statement that revokes everyone's licences.
But the main point is, whether or not they're able to actually do it, you do not own the game. Unless maybe if it's a game released in the early '90s, before they started doing this.

This is AI but I think it summarizes things well: "Buying a game on GOG is closer to ownership because it provides DRM-free, offline installers that are not tied to the platform's existence and can't be revoked. This contrasts with buying a license on other platforms, where access can be lost if the service shuts down, a license is revoked, or you get banned. While you technically still buy a license for the game on GOG, the inclusion of a permanent, downloadable installer gives you 'ownership' as long as you save the installer files."

I don't know. It's starting to look intentional to me. Like, this is supposed make people who say Valve is censoring things are crazy, that kind of thing. Picking a no-name game no one cares about was part of that since it makes it easy for everyone to dismiss the entire thing, instead of latching onto a popular IP that might generate actual discussion. The problem is that these threads are constant. There's usually multiple at a time. Any shit Valve delisted was due to the payment processors. There was no choice outside of just not using those payment processors, which is death for a platform.
As for the user choice, it's Steam or
>shitty store with no games, a bad launcher with slow downloads, and web downloads that are even slower
>shitty store with games, but an even worse launcher
>shitty store with a few games, but a worse launcher
>three shitty stores with only their games and shitty launchers
>consoles
So Steam is the only option, and it's not going away. These threads are made multiple times a day every day, and not a single person has been swayed to dump their libraries so they can have a worse experience. The threads hinge on people caring about things they don't care about on top of it.
