It has the best gameplay in my opinion and the soundtrack is amazing (as always) but every other part of the game suffers from a lack of care and makes me wonder if it was rushed out the door.
The story DLC is fine, not as good as Torna or additional Blades for XB2, however 3's Land of Challenge is way better thanks to the Archsage Gauntlet, which alone is so fantastic that it's worth the price of the DLC all by itself.
Get it on discount and you will probably have a good time.

XC3 was bad because it didn't tie together 1/2 well enough, and the art direction was total ass. It's amazing how all the art was done by SAITOM, and yet it looked nothing like his XC2 art. That, and everyone just having the same outfits with a different jacket for each class sucked.

Xenoblade 2 has some Xenosaga references, but each series is stand alone.

I like Xenoblade 3 because it has the better gameplay and I think that the party is most equilibrated in terms of spotlight. People sort of dismiss Sena, but she still had some moment with the turtle flipping and her attempted sacrifice. I liked her in Segiri's quest too.
