Senran Kagura was killed by platform holders becoming hostile to its concept. There was nothing Senran Kagura could have done that would have made platform holders any less hostile to its entire concept other than sacrificing that concept, and thus its identity itself. As long as Senran Kagura remained Senran Kagura, Sony would have killed it regardless, and there was nothing the devs and publishers could do because Sony, as well as Nintendo and Valve reserve the right to refuse access to their platforms for any reason. As long as that remains true, it will not come back. The concept of aggressive "brand protection" and private companies with market monopolies being allowed to dictate content must die for Senran Kagura to come back, because otherwise they will always bend to the will of activists.

Let me give you an example from just last year; Tokyo Clanpool. Banned from Steam (even with 90% of the lewd content stripped out), censored on Switch and banned from a western release, and censored on GOG. Three different platforms in three different countries refused to take a console game from less than a decade ago unaltered. That's the treatment you can expect any modern Senran Kagura game to face. LoveR Kiss is going through the same treatment as we speak. Under these conditions, it is virtually impossible for any ecchi game to find success. The entire industry has collectively decided that games from a decade ago should no longer exist, and they are colluding across borders to aggressively suppress them. You are stupid if you think Senran Kagura can return properly under these conditions. The extermination of moe ecchi games was thorough and well-coordinated.

Surely Microsoft and Nintendo of America will allow Senran Kagura 7 to be released on their platform. In fact, I'm calling Phil Spencer right now to buy the IP.

Valkyrie Drive, it was a joint project between Marvelous and another company, basically another attempt to make a senran like franchise, but it didn't work. The anime was the most successful out of the three projects, the Vita game only did okay, and the browser gacha flopped.
